September 20th, 2025. Saturday. 10 am
Hayden Heights Library. 1456 White Bear Ave, St Paul, MN 55106
The goal of these meetings is to introduce the community to tea/tisanes from around the world. To make tasting accessible to all. I need public input to make sure that this format is working and to help it evolve to become even better. So if you have comments, please don’t hold back.
At this meeting, we truly tried some unique teas/tisanes. From the bitter Broadleaf Holly to the smooth 2025 golden buds from one of Himalko’s newest black samples, there was a different part of the palate for everyone.
Our educational section for the meeting focused on Batabatacha. A rare fermented tea from the Toyama Prefecture of Japan. We steeped it just under 15 minutes, but unfortunately, we were unable to whip it into a froth. This could be due to not using the specific type of chasen needed for Batabatacha, or it could also be that it needed to infuse longer.
Non-profit: Currently working on our articles of incorporation. We are always looking for more help, so don’t be afraid to step up.
Teas Consumed:
- Turmeric Ginger (Davidson’s Organics)
- Batabatacha (Yunomi)
- Bitternail/Kuding – (Company Unknown)
- Blueberry Lemon Ceylon – Mrs. Kelly’s Tea

- Chai Rooibos (Mrs. Kelly’s Tea)
